Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple is located at Jankampet in the Nizamabad district of Telangana. This temple is specially dedicated to Lord Narasimha a deity of Lord Vishnu. The temple consists of a pillared hall and garbhagriha. This temple is mainly famous for the Astahmukhi Puskharini on the top of the hill and constructed in an octagonal shape.
It is said that the temple was built during the time of Rashtrakutas times and renovated during the time of Western Chalukyas, Kakatiyas, and other rulers after that. The temple was constructed by Jains. On the day of the full moon and some annual or occasional festivals, lots of devotees, pilgrims, and tourists can be seen.

A ritual here that people follow for a very long time is whenever Amavasya falls on a Saturday called Shaniwar Amavasya people from Nizamabad and neighboring areas and take a dip in the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, and Astahmukhi Koneru offers prayers. Devotees believe that by performing this ritual, they can keep away the negativity of Shani. Meanwhile, on the day of Pournami, and Amavasya, a large number of people from Hyderabad, Maharashtra, and Karnataka come to take a dip in the ancient temple’s Koneru.

Astahmukhi Koneru means 8 faces in 8 directions lake. This is with 8 directions famous lake. If anyone has any desire then keep the two hands’ thumb finger on the stone before the god if it is going to be fulfilled then fingers move far from each other to some distance. Crystal clear water will be flowing over the Koneru in Rainy times and lots of Pilgrims can be seen during the day times also.
