Liger Movie is a Mass action drama about a young boy from the streets of Mumbai who went on to represent in country in MMA. Ananya Panday is playing the female lead lover interest of Vijay Deverakonda in the movie. The movie is set to release on 25th of August in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi Languages. Liger Movie Review
The movie hits the screen today. After 2 long years of the pandemic, the movie was finally released. Liger is a film that has always been a topic of gossip since ever it began. And after releasing the trailer of the movie, people went crazy and hoped for the huge expectation of the movie. Let’s see in this article, after releasing the movie, whether it met those expectations or not.
Story– you definitely know the story, hear from other sides, or read in the article/news. So, the story is, that after the death of their father in the Martial National Art Championship in the movie, the mother and VD moved to Mumbai. Then liger’s mother takes him to the Martial Arts Championship coach and trains him. Later then, he realizes that he has a stammering problem, but as soon falls in love with the actress Ananya Pandey or Tanya. Vijay or liger wins the National championship but now wanted to fight the International too and the journey is the story.
Movie Analysis- to be honest, lots of movies are made about boxing right? Were went super hit, and the reason behind the success of the movie is, just not the bone-chilling episodes, also when the lead character enters the fighting ring, the emotion in their story wins everyone’s hearts. The high feeling we get when the hero is fighting in the ring is mainly because of his emotional journey and solid backstory. And this thing is completely missing from the movie Liger. This is like the routine story of every film, with no strong points and all, due to lack of this thing the movie turns the worst.
Moreover, Liger’s content was not so good it could not entertain the audience till the end but the mother sentiment in the film turns the audience’s hearts and wins the heart, and the track of Vijay and Ramya Krishnan is too vast. The makers of the movie explained the father’s death in just two lines. And about the love chemistry, Tanya and Vijay fall in love instantly but she leaves him after knowing that Vijay has a stammering problem. But she came back when Vijay becomes the world champion and she claims that she left him to give him motivation. The movie is lack drama, and in this way, the movie Liger was not met with any of the expectations of the audiences.
Well, the movie is quite better in the first half as Vijay had to engage the audience through his acting. The actress, Ananya Pandey’s thread is one of the biggest negative points of the movie as there is no logic behind the scenes. The turn in the story with his stammering problem, which is failed to entertain the audience. After a just fine first half, everyone is hoping for a good move and drama in the drama but unfortunately, that also did not meet the expectations, the saddest thing for the entire movie.
Performances- let’s talk about the leading performances, the transformation of Vijay’s body was too good, he looks like a real MMA fighter and clearly shows his hard work on the body transformation. Vijay’s body, and presence everything were so great but somehow Puri could not utilize his presence and body properly.
On the other hand, the performance of Ananya Pandey brings a big disappointment and it is due to the poorly written character. While Ramya Krishnan (mother) did well despite the loud character. Mike Tyson’s role did not live up to the billing and looked quite silly at the end. Vishnu Reddy as a villain and Ronit Roy as the coach were fine. Ali and Getup Srinu brought the comedy moments and the rest of the cast was just fine.
Musicians & Technicians- there were 6 music composers who worked on the movie, but the music was used in unnecessary situations, which was just useless. Besides this, the cinematography used in the movie was good and clearly visible on the screen.
They have had good resources but in the end, director Jagannadh Puri failed to utilize them. He made a bug film but with a weak story. The screenplay doesn’t have any kinds of twists to engage the audience. Well, there is no emotion and drama in the movie and everyone missed a Puri mark hero who would have lifted the film completely if wanted. The movie ‘Liger’ is one of his weakest and most unsatisfactory works.
