Unacademy the educational platform, has fired more than 150 employees in the second round of layoff at the company. The current firing account for nearly 2.6% of employees affected by a performance improvement program.

It is said that based on the performance and outcomes of several assessments, the employees, educators, and contractor roles were re-evaluated due to performances, as said that it is common for any organization.

The sources said that the current firing has affected the team at Chandigarh prep ladder team, a leading post-medical entrance exam preparation, and the company had acquired $50 million in 2020.

In the month of April, Unacademy has fired more than 600 employees which are educators, and contractual workers about 10% of its 6000 workforce team.

Unacademy said that it has been discussed and parted with the layoffs people, in terms of their respective contracts. In addition, the company also said that it is been ensured that they have received additional benefits and compensations.
