TSRTC launches bus tracking mobile application
On Thursday, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) informed that a bus tracking facility via a mobile app is made available for improving the bus journey easily and to increase the efficiency of the state-run public transport service. This new initiative was taken to make the passengers’ journey easy, encouraging citizens to travel by state-run buses.
TSRTC Managing Director Sajjanar announced that TSRTC has launched a mobile app and one can download it in Play Store by the name ‘TSRTC bus tracking’ to avail the easy tracking of the buses.
This initiative is taken to help the passengers in knowing the arrival and departure of the buses at various bus stops across Telangana along with nearby states. Passengers can now easily plan their traveling by knowing where the TSRTC bus services are available and this helps them to reduce the unwanted waiting times at the bus stops.
For this initiative, the Telangana government has undertaken 96 deposits across Telangana and 4170 special type buses for the implementation of bus tracking and provide the expected time arrival (ETA) of bus services as per the passengers’ convenience.
The Managing Director of TSRTC has further informed that 140 buses have been identified for the pilot project out of which 40 AC Pushpak buses of the cantonment and the Miyapur and 2 depots are being operated to Rajiv Gandhi International airport and Shamshabad on different routes. And, hundred long-distance buses of Miyapur-1 are being operated on routes like Srisailam, Vijayawada, Eluru, Bhadrachalam, Bangalore, and Visakhapatnam.
As of now, only general buses are being added to the tracking app and he stated that within a couple of months all reservation services and special type services of the state would also be included in the tracking app.
Thus, the TSRTC bus tracking app is going to provide the passengers with accurate information on bus arrival at various stops near passengers’ locations.
