Talaash- the answer lies within (2012) – one of the best mystery movies which starred Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee, and Aamir khan and is directed by Reema kagti. The movie is the full package of mystery. The story revolves around Surjan Singh Shekhawat played by Amir Khan who is a cop and investigating a murder case of a popular actor Arman Kapoor played by Vivaan Bhatena. While investigating he comes across Rosie or Kareena Kapoor who is a red-light area worker which adds more mystery to the film. 3. Detective Byomkesh Bakshy 2015
Detective Byomkesh Bakshy (2015) – the movie starred the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the movie is based on one of the first detective stories which is created by bestseller Bengali writer Saradindu Bandyopadhyay. The film is set in the 1940s during the Second World War and follows the first case of Byomkesh Bakshy or Sushant Singh Rajput. Fresh out of college, he agrees to investigate the disappearance of Bhuvan who is a chemist. While investigating further, he identified that Bhuvan’s case is linked to a much bigger conspiracy. People say that this film is Bollywood’s Sherlock Holmes, the makers of the movie have nailed it in everything.

Andhadhun- this is also one of the best thrilling mystery movies that have been ever made. The movie is so unpredictable you will never know, what is next. The movie story revolves around Akash or Ayushmann Khurana, who is a blind pianist and accidentally bumps into Sophie or Radhika Apte, after finding out that he is a pianist she takes him to her father’s restaurant and offers him a job in her family business. Then Akash gets invited to an actor’s house for a private concert and a shocking surprise waiting for him. Watch the movie once, you will know the suspense.
5. Badla
Badla- 2019- the movie starring Tapsee Pannu, Amitabh Bacchan, and Amrita Singh. The movie is one of the best mystery movies in the Bollywood era. The storyline of the movie is, about Naina Sethi who is a businesswoman who gets accused of killing her lover Arjun. As the story proceeds, we get to see every type of character in the film. Raat Akeli Hai- 2020– If you are fond of the dark and deepest mystery then this is for you. The movie is about a murder mystery that stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte. The story goes around a cop who is investigating the murder of an aged and rich politician man who is found dead on his wedding night to Radha, a young girl. As the police cop investigates and continues his investigation he dives deep into a much darker unresolved case which puts him at risk. The movie is tricky and holds you at the end of the movie. 7. Haseen Dillruba
Haseen Dillruba-2021– the movie starring Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, and Harshvardhan Rane, and the movie is the perfect murder mystery. The story revolves around Rishabh Saxena, who is killed in an explosion, on investigating the cops find that it is a murder and the major suspect is his wife Rani Kashyap. The story then goes around how Rani deals with the police and tells her story. The movie is the perfect combination of what one can say in one word, masterpiece. The movie was only released on the most popular OTT platform, Netflix.
8. The fame game
The fame game- 2022– the movie has marked the comeback of Madhuri Dixit. Madhuri played the role of Anamika Khanna who despite all the fame has a life filled with lots of struggles as she tries to have a happy family life. She tries her best to be the best wife and mother, but life has other plans for her. The most interesting part of the story begins when she goes missing suddenly and her family members are forced to take help from the police to find her.
9. Drishyam
Drishyam- 2015- the movie starred Ajay Devgan, Shriya Saran, Tabu, & Ishita Dutta. The movie is based on a family who is trying to cover up a murder. Vijay Salgaonkar is a local businessman who runs a cable TV service in Goa and the family has two daughters aged 18 and 12. His elder daughter Anju is being sexually harassed by her classmate Sameer and she accidentally kills Sameer during a violent fight or battle. The family tries very hard to cover up the murder and has extended their all limitations. Sameer is also the son of the Inspector General of Goa Police.
10. Ugly 2014
Ugly- 2014- the movies starred Ronit Roy, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Rahul Bhat, & Girish Kulkarni. The brilliant Bollywood mystery. The movie’s storyline is like Rahul leaves his daughter Kali in the car while he goes to meet a casting director. Then his daughter is approached by a mask seller and the very next moment she goes missing and her whereabouts can’t be traced. One by one her mother, her aunt, her stepfather, and her father’s friend are exposed. The movie director Anurag Kashyap has used the storyline of a young girl’s kidnapping to reveal the ugly side of both Mumbai and its residents.
