Telangana state is to receive moderate to heavy rain falls Starting from Wednesday. IMD has Issued a ‘Yellow alert’ as heavy rains are most likely to occur from Wednesday.
The IMD predicted that heavy rains coupled with thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur in several districts in the State as the southwest monsoon finally arrived in Hyderabad after a delay of five days.
The officials said that rains may occur in Nalgonda, Nagar Kurnool, Wanaparthy, Gadwal, Mahbubnagar, Narayanapet, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medak, Sangareddy, Mahabubabad, Hanamkonda, Mulugu, Bhupalpalli, and Warangal districts by Wednesday afternoon.
The IMD issued a Yellow alert warning to Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Mahbubnagar, Nagar Kurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Gadwal, Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Suryapet, Warangal, Jangaon, Siddipet, and Bhongiri and cautioned people to be alert.
GHMC officials alerted people about heavy rains in Hyderabad and asked employees and others to reach their homes at the earliest.
The monsoon is expected to arrive in the State in June’s first week. But was delayed due to weak sea winds in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, according to IMD.
