The Sahastrakund waterfall is situated on the boundary of the Vidarbha regions of the Nanded district of Maharashtra. Well, it is 282km from Hyderabad. This stunning waterfall is located at the banks of the Penganga River, which is a tributary of the Godavari River in Murli village.
The waterfall is frequently visited because of its adjacent beauty and there is a beautiful garden on the bank of the waterfall where you can spot the different species of butterflies. This place will be more crowded in the monsoon season, the water falls from a height of 50 feet to form a breathtaking waterfall. The best time to visit the waterfall is during the monsoon season from August to October when the water level is moderate. However, most visitors like to visit the waterfall during the high peak rains or monsoon. And during this time, the bridge becomes inaccessible for four-wheelers so they have to walk for 20 minutes to reach the waterfall.
The waterfall is 45 kilometers from Umarkhed, and 161 km from the main district headquarter. But the road from Nirmal village is moderate and can get worsen during heavy rains.

The summers are more extreme than winters and monsoons, with a temperature of up to 40.5 degrees Celsius here and the Winters are mild, the average temperature varies from 28-30 degrees Celsius. By Train– The Nearest Railway station is at Nanded on the Central line which is 103 km from the waterfall.
By Road– From Umarkhed is 45.5 km, whereas Yavatmal District Head Quarter is 161 km via NH 361.
