In the year 2008, Sharwanand got his first big break when his road drama Gamyam became a commercial success. The movie won four Filmfare South Awards and numerous other accolades were remade in Tamil as Kadhalna Summa Illai (2009) and in Bengali as Dui Prithibi in 2010. The political thriller Prasthanam movie and the family drama Andari Bandhuvaya, both were released in 2010, which has been fulfilled with positive reviews and were dubbed into Tamil following their box office success, gaining fame in Tollywood and Kollywood.
