Tollywood actor Vijay Deverakonda appeared before ED (Enforcement Directorate) in order to investigate sourcing funds for his recent movie Liger. Vijay appeared before ED at the agency’s regional office in Hyderabad. And the central agency is investigating the alleged violation of the FEM Act.
As per the reports, it is said that Vijay is being questioned about the sources of funding f the movie and also about his payments made to others including American boxer Mike Tyson. The ED officials had dragged the film director Puri Jagannadh and Producer Charmme Kaur also.
As they were also questioned about the source of investment for the Hindi-Telugu movie Liger which was released recently on 25th August with a budget of 125 crores. Furthermore, the ED started the investigation after receiving the complaint from congress leader Bakka Judson about the investments. And he claimed that many politicians have invested their money in Liger and also investors found out that this is the easiest way of turning their black money into white.
Moreover, the investigating agency suspects that many foreign companies had transferred funds to the accounts of the filmmakers and they were asked to provide details of those who had transferred the money and how the payments were made to the foreign actors including Mike Tyson and the technical crew.
