Inventions of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam
Technology: Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was the former 11th president of India, he was a scientist, teacher, and the great Aerospace Engineer. He was one of the most loved and deserving leaders of our Country. He died while doing what he loved the most, meanwhile spending time with the students while delivering the speech at IIM Shilong. He had given a vast contribution to the development of missiles and nuclear weapons programs and other technologies. He has worked for over 20 years with ISRO (Indian space research organization) and DRDO (Defense research and development organization).
His contribution to the development of missiles- AGNI and PRITHVI, earned him ‘’the title of Missile Man of India’’.
Here in this article, I will mention some of the few inventions of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam which has achieved the heights of millions in Indian history.
Dr. APJ Abdul kalam’s contribution in making India’s first indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV)
He has worked for over a decade on this, and after his all efforts, resulted in the development of India’s first Satellite Launch Vehicle. SLV- III was responsible for injecting Rohini, a series of satellites into the NEO (near-Earth Orbit). Indians had not even dreamt about the satellite, but Dr. Kalam made it possible.
He directed the projects for the development of Ballistic Missiles
Dr. Kalam was leading a project name devil and valiant which had the vision to develop ballistic missiles using the same technology as the satellite Launch vehicle. Under this program, they have built many missiles including AGNI and PRITHVI, Agni is an intermediate ballistic missile while Prithvi is a surface to surface missile.
Pokhran-2
Dr. Kalam played a major role in developing the Pokhran-2 from which he earned the title of the best nuclear scientist in the country. It consists of 4 detonations, the first was a nuclear fusion bomb and the other four were nuclear fission.
Kalam-Raju Tablet
Dr. Kalam and dr. soma Raju has built a tablet called Kalam-Raju Tablet for better health administrator services, and it stored the medical history of every person.
INDIA’S light combat Aircraft project-
He played a vital role in developing the Light Combat Aircraft, an advanced single-seat, supersonic, single-engine, able to survive in all weather.
Light weight Calipers
Dr. Kalam propelled the lightweight capillaries to air people with motor disorders- this has been the major development in helping people with motor disabilities to walk painlessly. The previous build capillaries were over 10times the weight of the one invented by Dr. Kalam and his team, it allowing people to walk and move freely.
Kalam-Raju Stent
The Kalam-Raju stent was invented to dilate constricted arteries and save them. It is a device to dilate the blockages in the arteries. It has reduced the costs by 50%.
Nandhi
It was the first-ever invention of Dr. Kalam, he made the double engine powered hovercraft named, Nandhi. It was completed after lots of struggle and the efforts made by him, hence it managed to fly above 1 foot from the ground with 2 persons in it.
