Hyderabad cops ask Google to take down 221 fake loan apps
Hyderabad: Some of us or a few of us definitely have witnessed cybercrimes in our lifetime. In our country, cyber crimes are increasing day by day and now it becomes a major issue. Internet is giving everything by sitting in one place, social networking, online shopping, online jobs, online study, everything can be done by the medium of the internet.
Cyber crimes are different because it has no boundaries and cyber criminals are unknown. The information and communication technologies are increasing day by day hence, cyber crimes are also increasing with the increase of technologies. Cybercrimes can be defined by the criminal activity with the use of computers networks and internet the crimes like phishing, Credit card frauds, bank robbery, illegal downloading, industrial espionage, child pornography, kidnapping of children via chat rooms, scams, cyber terrorism, creation and or distribution of viruses, spam and so on, the cases of phishing, credit card frauds and chat rooms are rapidly increasing.
As a way of decreasing cybercrimes, the police have once again written to Google about 221 illegal online loan apps removed or drop down from the Google play store. They are receiving several complaints about online harassment, online fraud, and cheating, later the social media team identifies those apps on the Google play store and verified them in a detailed way. After the investigation of those cases and apps, it is revealed that those apps 221 apps were illegal and some of them are fake too.
The fraud developers are creating these fake and illegal apps and believing everyone to be true and real, by placing them on the play store. The police earlier, two days ago briefed Google about such apps, identified that these illegal and fake apps were not as per the Reserve Bank of India guidelines, and requested Google to drop down the app or remove it from the Play store. The officials said we will continue to identify such apps and bring them to the notice of Google management in the future.
Odisha police also asked Google to remove the 45 apps immediately because of increasing the number of cybercrime cases. Among the list of suspected apps are, some of the few names which have been sent to Google for removing the app from the Play store, Beloan App, Fast Rupee, Easy Credit Loan, Cash Cola, Infinity, Sunshine, Credit wallet, Go Cash, Go Go loan, INS Loan, Asan Loan, Fast cash/Cash Fast, Flip cash, Rupee Wallet, Rupee King, and many others.
