Havelock is a group of small islands which are called Ritchie’s Archipelago. Havelock Islands is the largest among all the islands situated in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Havelock island is located 30 kilometers east of Andaman, this tourist place is popularly known for its beaches, water sports, adventure activities, trekking, etc. Among the many beaches here, Radhanagar Beach is considered to be the one filled with the utmost beauty close to nature. This beach is not so ideal for swimming as the mangroves, dead coral beds, and rocky patches make it difficult for swimming and snorkeling. Also, the water currents are strong making it even more difficult. But, you can spend an awesome time here watching the beautiful nature and strolling on the shore.

  1. Vijaynagar Beach

Vijaynagar beach is also commonly known as Lone Mangroves Beach. The beach offers calming water making it ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and other water sports. It is worth visiting if you want to just explore nature. Apart from the spectacular views of the beach, you can also taste the seafood here. Vijaynagar beach’s other name is Beach number 5.

  1. Radhanagar Beach

Radhanagar beach offers a clear sky, pristine blue water, white sand, and spectacular sunsets making it incredible and unique. This beach is also awarded the ‘Most beautiful beach in Asia’ in 2004. 

On this beach, you can find plenty of benches, huts, and wooden chairs where you can relax and enjoy the serene environment around you. You can also do some recreational activities like snorkeling and swimming as there are few places with coral reefs and sandy bottoms. Radhanagar beach is famous for its spectacular sunset view. So, do not miss it. Public transport like rickshaws or jeeps can also be hired to and from this spot. Radhanagar beach is also known by the name Beach number 7.

Kalapathar beach got its name from the black rocks that form the shoreline of the village located nearby. Kalapathar beach is situated on one corner of Havelock Islands and can be easily reached from Vijayanagar Beach. You will get to witness the pristine green water and white sandy beaches making it a wonderful spot to relax from the chaos around.

  1. Elephant Beach

Elephant beach is one of the most popular destinations among Indian travelers that is situated north of Radhanagar Beach. The 2004 tsunami had swept away most parts of the beach to the sea. Only a fraction of Elephant Beach is left now. It is so close to Radhanagar Beach and can be reached on foot. This is a perfect spot for snorkeling as the coral present here is the best one in the whole Havelock Islands. Tourists can enjoy various water sports here in the sports centers. Although this place is a bit secluded, it provides the comfort and relaxing atmosphere all you need.
