The officials of the GHMC said the sanitation staff will work in three shifts. At each crane, seven workers will be placed and at each artificial pond, 7 to 14 workers will be distributed based on their size. Furthermore, 21 sanitation workers will be placed on every 3-4 km route.

GHMC will also take some environmental conservation measures. And for the execution of this, the corporation is making artificial ponds in the different parts of the city to encourage people to immerse the Ganesh Idols in artificial ponds instead of lakes. And this is really an environmental healthy initiative.

And for that, a total of 24 portable prefabricated fiber reinforced plastic ponds are set up in different parts of the city. Apart from the existing artificial ponds that were built near lakes by excavation or digging the grounds, these portable artificial ponds could be assembled and dismantled anytime as per the requirements. And most of the artificial ponds are about 43×43 in size and have enough or sufficient depth for idols of up to 8×10 feet to be immersed in them.

Besides, artificial ponds, the GHMC is also working on road restoration, illumination, making mobile washrooms, and fogging along the procession route and places where Ganesh idols are immersed.

So, all the works related to road restoration and along the procession route are supposed to be completed by 29th August. Meanwhile, HMWS & SB will also provide drinking water on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi or Ganesh idol immersion places on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th days of the festival.

Moreover, For Ganesh Chaturthi, the government would also be arranging 70,000 clay idols through the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), 50,000 idols through the GHMC apart from another 40,000 through the Endowments department. The GHMC truly ensures the smooth conduct of the festival and environmental conservation measures keeping in mind and also will make sure that all the Covid 19 protocols were followed.
