Draupadi Murmu India’s Final Tribal President – to take an Oath on July 25th
So finally, India has got its first new Tribal President in history. Droupadi Murmu has been chosen to lead the country, who scooped up over 60% of the total vote value. The President will take an Oath on July 25th.
The Droupadi Murmu got 64.03% of the total vote value after three rounds of counting, much more than what was openly declared in her support and pointing to the fact there had been a lot of cross-voting in Ms. Murmu’s favor.
Mr. Yashwant Sinha ended up with 35.97%. Ms. Murmu has received 2,824 votes with a value of 6, 76,803. Mr. Sinha received 1,877 votes with a value of 3, 80,177 and a value of 5, 43,000 is required for winning.
All the MLAs and other parties of the country and even the Prime Minister congratulate Ms. Droupadi Murmu for being elected as the President of the country. At the age of 64, Ms. Murmu will be the youngest and India’s
P.C Mody, the Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha who was the designated Returning Officer for the polls said that in my capacity as Returning Officer duly declare that Smt. Droupadi Murmu has been elected as President of India.
Our honorable Prime Minister tweeted that, it was the first to greet Ms. Murmu at her residence in New Delhi after the third round of counting showed that she had crossed the halfway mark, India’s scripts history, at a time when 1.3 billion Indians are marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a daughter of India hailing from a tribal community born in a village of eastern India has been elected our President!
