Cold wave hits the Telangana, temperature drops below 5 degrees

Telangana is hit by the major cold wave with the minimum night temperature below 5 degrees in some places. Telangana faced sudden drop in temperature. The Minimum temperatures were below the normal by 3-5 degrees at many areas across the Telangana.

The kohir in Sangareddy district of Telangana was the coldest in the state with the lowest temperature 4.6 degree Celsius. According to Telangana State Development Planning Society, Sirpur in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district recorded a minimum temperature of 4.8 degrees, the Marpalle in Vikarabad district and Tallapally in Rangareddy district recorded the minimal temperature of 5 degrees.

The Mangalpalle in Rangareddy district recorded 5.2 degree Celsius, while it was 5.4 in Bazarhathnoor in Adilabad district, 5.5 in Dongli in Kamareddy, 5.6 in Shivampet, 5.6 in Nyalka (Sangareddy) and 5.7 in Nallavalli (Sangareddy) With sharp bone chilly winds blowing since Sunday evening. Those living on footpaths and bus stations were affected badly in this situation. 

It is expected that the temperature will come down further in the next three days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange-coded alert for Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Rajanna Sirsilla, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Jagityal, Nirmal,Medak, Kamareddy and Nizamabad districts.
