Right from the word go Acharya movie received unanimously negative reviews from critics to common people and the going by the trends the movie might end up in the list of top 2 biggest disasters in Telugu cinema history.

Acharya movie had done a theatrical business of 132 crores and as of now the movie has 45 crores at the box office and most probably the movie might bag a loss of around 70crores if not more. The result of the Acharya movie is raising the question of whether producers spending money for the right cause or just to impress the star hero. At the end of the movie is also business and any expenditure without knowing the right Returns on Investment would be a failure. I Hope Telugu producers will look into the budgets in movie making especially for star hero films.
