The fort’s walls were so strong that they were impregnable in Guerrilla warfare when small rebel groups revolted against the Nizams.
The fort was occupied and ruled by many rulers like Kalyani Chalukya, Bahmani, Padmanayaka, Reddiraajulu, Qutb Shahis, and many local warlords. After the invention of the cannon, simple hill forts have become less used to host large armies and therefore abandoned over a period of time.
