The name you might not have heard but you definitely have heard the company name CarDekho.com and CollegeDekho.com. Amit Jain is the founder and CEO of CarDekho company, and an Indian Entrepreneur. Now he might not need any introduction being the founder of a reputed company.
Family Background-
Amit Jain was born on 12th November 1976 in Jaipur. His father’s name is Prashant Jain, he was an RBI officer and also a businessman but unfortunately, he died of cancer in 2006. His mother Nilima Jain is a homemaker. He only has one younger brother Anurag Jain, who is the co-founder and COO of the CarDekho company. He married Pihu Jain who currently manages the Girnar software company, and the couple has 2 twins named Aahil and Ayan Jain.
Education Qualification-
Amit Jain completed his schooling at St. Xavier’s senior secondary school, Jaipur. And then he joined the Btech in IIT Delhi in 1995-1999. After that, he started his career as a Software Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where he worked as a Senior Associate in Austin for Trilogy, a Texas-based software company.
Career Journey-
Amit Jain set up an IT outsourcing company in his hometown Jaipur in 2006. He and his brother Anurag Jain opened a small office in their garage and launched GirnarSoft company between 2007-2008. He moved to his hometown for taking care of his father and then he started a company there.
In 2008, Amit and his brother Anurag visited an Auto Expo in New Delhi and they returned with a fantastic idea to create a platform where people can buy and sell cars with the right information and proper review. From there the journey started at CarDekho.com.
In the first year of the venture, the start-up faces many difficulties and ups and down as they lost more than 1 crore due to the 2009 stock market crash, and at that time they have no money left to run the company. And then, CarDekho generated a good amount of returns in 2015, so he decided to expand their business with BikeDekho, CollegeDekho, Insurance Dekho, and many more.
Their company received funding from an American-based company called Sequoia Capital. Since then, there is no turning back to him, and his brother, they both evolved as successful entrepreneurs.

Achievements-
Amit Jain has also participated as a speaker in the SURGE event, in Bengaluru. His biggest achievement is, he appeared on the second season of the television show Shark Tank. He also won the Business Rankers Award in 2015.
