Story & Review:
The story is about a person called Ricky, who is a passionate person with a dream of becoming a raw agent since childhood after a traumatic incident happens in his life. Mahadev’s character is played by the Mammooty scouts and takes Ricky under his wing to help him catch a rouge ex-agent. The movie is all about how Ricky solves this problem and serves his nation.
Although the movie Agent has an interesting plot, the screenplay fails to engage the audience or connect with the audience. The lack of twists and turns and a weak villain is also a major drawback for a spy thriller. Furthermore, the movie’s visuals and production values do not match its grand scale and budget. The film is predictable from the first frame, with some scenes being illogical. The songs, the background music, and the love track also impact negatively the movie. Sakshi Vaidya’s role doesn’t make an impact, even though it turns into a very boring track. Only the performances by Akhil and Mammooty are the only positive aspects of the movie, along with the pre-interval and interval scenes are noteworthy. However, the weak villain characterization, poor visuals, and the entire second half are significant downsides. Only Akhil’s energetic and unpredictable performance, along with Mammootty’s legendary acting, are some of the film’s highlights.
Overall, the pan-India trend backfired for “Agent,” as the movie failed to draw audiences towards its core cause. The foreign locations and over-the-top action sequences could have been used to create an engaging plot with better characterization.
The movie features the Tollywood star Akhil Akkineni, Sakshi Vaidya, Mammooty, and Dino Morea. The Agent movie is directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Ramabrahmam Sunkara, Deepa Reddy, and Ajay Sunkara.
Positives:
- Akhil and Mammootty’s performance
- Pre-interval and interval bit
Negatives:
- Screenplay and direction
- Music and BGM
- Entire 2nd half
- Weak villain characterization
- Poor visuals
Final Word: Some plus points of the movie are the performance of Akhil and Mammooty which made a good impact on the audience, and the pre-interval and interval scenes. And some negative points are, the entire second half is worst than we think, the ending could be better, the weak villain character, and low-quality visuals. The movie Agent has failed to draw the audience’s attention.
