The 13-yr-old Hyderabad boy climbs Mt Kang Yatse, Mt Dzo Jongo
Vishwanath Karthikey, the 13-year boy who is studying in class 9th of a school based in Hyderabad. He has climbed Kang Yatse and Dzo Jongo mountain ranges located in the Markha Valley located in Ladakh Region and set a new record globally.

Mount Kang Yaste is situated at an elevation of 6496 meters or 21312 feet which is located at the end of the Markha valley in the Himalayas in Ladakh, northwest India. And Mount Dzo Jongo is situated at a height of over 6,000 meters, and it is located in the east of Leh.
He started trekking to Kang Yatse and Dzo Jongo on 9th July and ended it on 22nd July. The journey from base camp to the summit, when they reached the crampon point was not easy, because, at higher altitudes, the air pressure decreases. However, Karthikey did not give up and in the end, his dream comes true. He also faced a lot of problems due to lack of moisture in the air, and at the height, the air pressure reduces, and started breathing problems due to lack of oxygen at the height.
His sister is a fitness freak and loves trekking, he also developed his interest in trekking. He thanked his mentors who helped him throughout the trek Bharath and Romil for helping and guiding him to complete this trek. And his coaches Sai Teja, Chaitanya, and Prashant trained him for attaining strength and cardio training.
Previously he went on a trek to Mount Rudugaira near Gangotri and Mount Elbrus in Russia, however, he couldn’t complete his trek. He failed many times but he stayed positive and all those unsuccessful attempts were the result of one successful attempt.
He also went to NIM- Nehru Institue of Mountaineering, for the 10 days of training but he failed there also. But again, he got trained for climbing up Mount Elbrus and this was also unsuccessful. However, with constant practice and proper fitness training, he completed the trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) in Nepal and Friendship peak in Manali.
