Where can indians travel to right now in 2023?
We have seen restrictions laid down by many countries on travelers due to Covid-19. But after two years of complete lockdown staying at home and limited travel, many countries have opened up their borders. By the end of March 2020, India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation reinstated International passenger flights and routes have almost resorted to pre-pandemic levels.
With many countries opening their borders and airline routes, one question that comes into everyone’s mind is which country Indian citizens can travel to right now. Here in this article, we are going to discuss some of the countries in which you can travel safely in 2022.
The Caucasus: Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia
The Caucasus is a place full of breathtaking landscapes, scenery, and thousands of years of history. The countries Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia that make up the Caucasus have equipped electronic Visa schemes for Indian Nationals. Europe
Indians having a valid tourist visa can now finally explore European countries. People can now finally explore the Classic art museums of Italy and the charming cobblestone streets of France and marvel at the futuristic cities in Germany.
All you need to travel to other countries is a valid vaccination record or a proof of negative covid-19 test to travel to European countries. There are only a few European countries that still have coronavirus restrictions to stop some countries which have directions are Malta which requires its visitors to have proof of vaccination recovery or a negative test result. Entry restrictions are mainly for unvaccinated travelers from countries like France, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
There are even certain countries that even allow those who do not have visas. Serbia and Albania are two countries that allow Visa-free access for Indian citizens. Serbia is famous for its unspoiled nature and the Metropolitan capital Belgrade. Albania has more than 120 km of pristine coastline and Communist Era museums.
Southeast Asia which is one of the most popular regions for travel and tourism has also opened its borders to International tourists. Indonesia was reopened in January 2020, Thailand on April 1st, and Laos in May 2022.
Maldives
Tourists are allowed to enter the Maldives without the need for covid-19 tests although the Ministry of Health recommends that travelers undertake the PCR test within 3 to 5 days of arrival for their health and safety.

The Philippines
The Philippines is welcoming tourists from 157 countries across the world from February 10th, 2022. The Southeast Asian country planned to reopen its borders in December but it was delayed due to the rise in covid-19 cases recently. The president has revealed that fully vaccinated foreign nationals can enter the Philippines for tourism and for business purposes. The country has also removed mandatory quarantine requirements for fully vaccinated foreign visitors as long as they test covid negative.
Bali
Bali is one of the favorite holiday destinations and it has started welcoming back its tourists. Bali which is famous for its lush green paddy fields, stunning beaches, and ancient structures has been a much-loved destination among Indians.
Singapore
Singapore has laid down its travel restrictions and the people planning a trip to Singapore can go for it. The tourists in Singapore do not have to undergo testing again and tourists who have mild symptoms have to isolate for 7 days instead of earlier 10 days.
Thailand
If you like to visit Cenang beach and adventure the Paradise of Thailand, here is some good news for you. Thailand has announced quarantine removal for vaccinated travelers and also relaxed most of its rules for tourists from February. The tourist must apply to the “Test & Go” entry program to visit Thailand.
Vietnam
Vietnam also opened its International borders in January this year. Travelers must carry proof of being fully vaccinated for having recovered from the coronavirus. Travelers must a covid-19 test before flying to Vietnam and undergo a three-day period of Quarantine at Hotels and once again take a PCR test.
